SYNOPSIS

moria [options]

DESCRIPTION

Moria is a classic single-player dungeon exploration game (roguelike). The player descends through increasingly dangerous levels of a dungeon, fighting monsters and collecting treasure, with the ultimate goal of killing the Balrog.
Moria features permadeath, randomly generated dungeons, and ASCII graphics.

PARAMETERS

-s file

Save file to use.
-w
Wizard mode (debugging).
-r
Restore saved game.

CAVEATS

Permadeath (death is permanent). ASCII graphics. Complex keyboard controls. Saved games deleted on death.

HISTORY

Moria was developed at the University of Oklahoma by Robert Alan Koeneke starting in 1983, inspired by Rogue. It became the ancestor of Angband and many other roguelikes.
