gnome-mines [options]

DESCRIPTION

GNOME Mines is the GNOME implementation of the classic Minesweeper puzzle game. The objective is to clear a minefield without detonating any mines, using numbered clues that indicate adjacent mines.The game provides multiple difficulty levels from beginner to expert, and custom board sizes. It tracks high scores and game statistics.

GAMEPLAY

- Left-click to reveal a square- Right-click to flag a suspected mine- Numbers indicate adjacent mine count- Clear all non-mine squares to win

CAVEATS

Requires GNOME libraries. Game state not saved between sessions. Custom sizes limited by screen space.

HISTORY

Minesweeper originated in the 1960s and became famous through Microsoft Windows. GNOME Mines is part of the gnome-games collection, providing a native Linux version following GNOME design guidelines.
